Sugar Cookies
Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture and mix until well combined.
- Divide the dough in half and wrap each half in plastic wrap. Chill for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to 1/4 inch thickness. Use cookie cutters to cut out your desired shapes, then transfer the cookies to the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until lightly golden around the edges. Cool on the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Chocolate Crinkle Cookies
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 4 oz unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour

- 1 cup powdered sugar, for rolling
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, whisk together the oil, melted chocolate, and granulated sugar.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the dry ingredients to the chocolate mixture and mix until well combined.
- Cover the dough with plastic wrap and chill for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Shape the dough into 1-inch balls, then roll them in the powdered sugar until coated.
- Place the balls on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cookies have cracked on the surface but are still slightly soft in the center.
- Cool the cookies on the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
